This film is a carefully crafted work of the human experience – coping with grief, a loss of certainty, isolation, a looming future and impeding death – told through the lens of a zombie apocalypse. This is (not) a zombie movie.

This script has been in development since 2008 and was perfected through the shared experience of co-writers Zach Frankart and Zach Low’s mothers battles with cancer. This full-length feature is coming to fruition January 18, 2022; almost one year to the date of Frankart’s mom, Kim, passing away. She left him with the single request to “make those movies” and so he is.

Countryside is a story of healing, and it has to be told.
